5 day ride 26-30th january 2013
Starting from the Willows, this ride will head up onto the Bogong High Plains. It takes a day to get to the first tented nights camp, starting at 740m above sea level, riding through a variety of forests and bush as we climb slowly up to about 1500m. The next few days will be spent riding out on the grassy Bogong High Plains, visiting old cattlemans' huts, seeing brumbies, ancient snow gums and hidden waterfalls. Then we'll head down off the mountain tops via Track 107,a track put in during the gold rush linking the Kiewa Valley with Glen Valley. A night on the Miita Mitta river, a chance to swim in clear, cool, mountain waters, before heading back downstream to The Willows.
Included in this trek is dinner and accommodation at The Willows on the the nights of the 25 and 30, and breakfast on the 31st. Cost per person is $2035 inc gst.
