A high country getaway
The Willows is a small, high country horse farm nestled in the Bundarrah Valley in the area known as Anglers Rest. Bounded by Alpine National Park, high country farmlands and the Bundarrah River it's not only a horseriders paradise but a place to getaway from it all.
Accommodation is available in the historic O'Connells Hut, a log cattleman's hut built around 1904. Also available is the converted Shearers Hut, built in the 1940's.
The comfortable rustic, self contained huts are more suited to those who enjoy the outdoor life with woodburners, outdoor toilet, gas lights and bbq facilities. They are both one roomed, open plan with a double and single bed in each. Linen is supplied. The river is a stone's throw away and dogs are welcome.
Due to the remote location there's no mains power. So no hairdryers!
There's easy private access to the river for fishing or swimming. The Blue Duck Inn and its great country pub grub is 3km away. The area is steeped in history of the mountain cattlemen, aborigines, goldminers, fishermen and travellers . So there should be something to keep you here for a day or more.
Hut Prices: From $120/night (comfortably sleeps two or three).
The Hill House
Horseriders accommodation is either in the huts or up in the mudbrick house. It's single, double or three share. There's plenty of space with open living/dining areas and big decks to sit on and take in the views.
